5 Things That Make Furniture Listings Sell Faster

October 3, 2025·3 min read

Furniture sells slowly on most platforms because listings are poor. Most sellers post one blurry photo, skip dimensions, and wonder why no one calls. Do the opposite.

1. Photograph in Natural Light

Open the curtains, push the furniture to a well-lit corner, and shoot during the day. Include:

•Wide shot showing the full piece
•Close-up of fabric, wood grain, or finish
•Any damage (scratches, stains, chips) — buyers respect honesty

2. List Exact Dimensions

This is the single biggest reason buyers don't call: they can't tell if the sofa will fit in their flat. Measure length × width × height and put it in the title. Example: *6-seater sofa 220cm × 90cm – like new*.

3. Mention if Disassembly is Needed

Beds, wardrobes, and shelving usually need to be taken apart for transport. Say so upfront, and mention whether you'll help or whether the buyer is responsible. This avoids confusion on delivery day.

4. Price Fairly — Not Sentimentally

Your ₹40,000 sofa isn't worth ₹35,000 second-hand, no matter how much you love it. Research similar pieces on RUSTI and price to sell. A realistic price generates 3× more inquiries.

5. Offer Within a 10 km Delivery Range

Many buyers walk away because they can't move heavy items. If you can arrange an auto-rickshaw or tempo for ₹200–₹500, offer it in the listing. You'll close deals in days instead of weeks.
